Aiko Herzig Yoshinaga Papers

Horita Family Papers
The Horita Family Papers (1940-2010, undated) collection contains 2.6 linear feet of documents from the Horita family, a Japanese American family from the Los Angeles area. The collection focuses on married couple Chitoshi “Harry” Horita (1896-1990) and Marue Nakashima Horita (1901-1982) and their extended family and includes records of the family’s incarceration at the Poston (Colorado River) incarceration camp, research into the family’s history, photographs, and correspondence.
Ted Kihara Photograph Collection
This collection contains one box of photographic images taken by Ted Kahara, a World War II Japanese-American Infantryman and Intelligence Officer. Materials include: 35 mm slides and negatives, and photographs.
Kobata Family Photographs
This collection includes digitized photographs and a commemorative photo album related to the Kobata family. Images in the collection include the Kobata Nursery in Los Angeles, plants at the nursery, tour photographs of Japan, and portraits of the Kobata family. All of the items in this collection have been digitized and are available online.
Terminal Island Personal Histories Collection
The Terminal Island Personal Histories Collection features one transcribed oral history, one autobiography, and one possible rough draft edition of a book entitled, "Terminal Island: An Island in Time, Collection of Personal Histories of Former Islanders 1994-1995". All of the materials in this are available online.
Wada Family Photographs
The Wada family photographs features two negatives and ten pre-World War II images of mainly the Wada family as well as some images of members from the Ushijima family. Most of the items in this collection have been digitized and are available online.
Kiyoko Maeda Yoshioka Photographs
The Kiyoko Maeda Yoshioka photographs collection (1916-1990, bulk 1937-1941) includes digital reproductions of family photographs primarily documenting the life of Kiyoko Maeda Yoshioka in the years before, during, and after World War II. The collection also includes digital reproductions of a short essay written by Hatsuko Mary Yoshioka Higuchi, redress papers, and a handout from a sewing class at Poston Incarceration Camp. All materials in this collection are digital reproductions.
